About Roddy McLean,and Timeless Tattoo

I started tattooing in late dec 2005 from a flat in Govanhill Glasgow

.Slum Tastic!

I scratched around six Tattoos here before i got a seat @ B******O a tattoo shop that was taking its first steps in the Savoy Centre Glasgow,

things Moved quickly and within the year the shop was relocated under the Central Station Bridge,it was here i worked alongside many people i still consider friends today (Stephen Kelly ,Mak#1,Jerry Magni and Laura Kennedy ,after the shop relocated again and many staff turnovers the bubble burst for me,

I left to open My own shop Timeless Tattoo in Nov 2008 back in the Savoy Centre, (NOOoOOOooooooooo…. we grafted here building a solid client base from 2008-20011

Laura Kennedy and i worked here with the veiw to putting a bigger shop in the city centre as soon as circumstances permitted, In the Savoy we had Guest artists

Mak#1 (England), Sam Ricketts(England), Daniel Herlihy(California), Jerry Magni(Italy), Charlotte Ross (Scotland) H.D Riggs(England) and Matt Perry (New Zealand)

This helped lend Credability to what had always been a bad spot for poor Tattoo work (the Savoy shop had been various tattoo shops before us for many years)

During This Time i Traveled to work away to make contacts and further raise the shops profile i worked in Copenhagen @ Enter the Dragon in 2009 with Dr Lind

and in the same year worked the Manchester Tattoo expo alongside Mak#1

then in October of the same year traveled over to Oneshot Tattoo Okinawa Japan to work alongside Satoru Koizumi where i studied his Japanese style and was Tattooed by him

after a lot of hard graft and perseverance it finally arrived at the end of the summer of 2011,

the push for the new shop took all my energy and focus between 20010-20011 which meant the guest spots abroad stopped for me

,Now that the first year at Timeless mk 2 is almost upon us i hope to get back to doing what i enjoy most of all

Update ., since this article was published I have worked @ hand of glory Brooklyn N.Y ,and returned to work in one shot tattoo with Satoru in march 2013 ‘
